Article Title: "Texas Rangers hitting coach stung by A-Rod, others"
Read article
Dear Mr. Jaramillo,
I have just purchased your hitting
video. My 11 year old son has been taking
hitting lessons for the about one year. This
video has given us more information in one
viewing, than our fifty dollar an hour lessons
have. Just wondering where we can get more
information as far as camps or lessons....?
Thank you,
Hector Castillo
After 6 seasons of working with the mental and
emotional needs of the Texas Rangers
organization, I have come to appreciate Rudy as
one of the Masters of the Game. His
uncommon combination of teacher, mentor,
mechanic, psychologist, and strategist make him
a priceless asset to a player at any stage of
his development.

Rudy,
I was walking through Academy in Victoria on Sunday
afternoon and I heard a familiar voice. I was glad to see
that they were screening your DVD on one of the end caps in
the baseball section. My son Morgan and I stood there and
watched for at least 15 minutes. My wife came along and
agreed to buy it for me… what a great investment! By the
way, there was only one left after we purchased our copy, so
the word is out in South Texas .
So now
for the unsolicited testimonial… I’ve been teaching my crude
version of your 5-point hitting method to my little leaguers
for the past three seasons. I mean, I’ve looked at every
bit of information that I could find on the net about your
method. It seems that I’ve been blessed (or cursed) with
having to coach a lot of “first-year” players, God Bless
them. Some of them had never thrown a baseball or held a
bat, but last season, our boys went 8 – 4 against some
pretty stacked teams… this after losing their first three
games. Not bad. What made the difference? Simple hitting
instruction and positive reinforcement, that’s what! Now I
have visual reference to better their potential.
I’d
like to wish you and Shelley the best for the upcoming year
and I hope to see you soon.
Your
cousin,
Ron Molina

Hello
Rudy,
I hope all is well and I am glad your health is staying
positive. The article posted in USA Today was outstanding
and your dedication shows through your players. Rudy, I
want to thank you again. We met last winter at a baseball
clinic in NJ. You took extra time to discuss your
teachings with me and I reflect on the regularly. I am
part of a program that teaches kids and what is awesome is that
your teachniques help me regularly. I look forward to
seeing you soon, and good luck this month!
Warm
Regards,

Dear Rudy,
I want to thank you for your insight from your instructional DVD.
I am a high school coach at Bellaire High School in Houston and
we will definitely put to use your 5 step approach. I am the
infield coach, but will be expanding my duties this fall in
working with our varsity hitters. When I was told that I would
be expanding my role as hitting coach, the first person I
thought about was you.
By the way, I'm a national league guy being an Astros fan my
entire life but to see Michael Young come through in the clutch
in a picture perfect swing is a tribute to you. Looked just like
the tape. You should hit him up for that Chevy Avalanche!
Thank you again, and good luck in the second half.

Bellaire High School Asst. Coach
Rudy,
I hope you
feel better soon. My son, Parker, wishes you well too.
He's driving the ball this year thanks to the camp at The Edge
last year and your "5 Simple Steps" DVD. Look forward to
seeing you in the dugout. You're in our prayers.
Lance Owen
Dear Coach
Jaramillo,
My son went to a clinic of yours earlier this year and we picked
up a copy of your DVD "5 Simple Steps" there. We both
watched it before almost every batting practice and it has
helped take him from using about 70% arms in his swing to a good
rotational swing that keeps getting better. It has also
helped me in how I can help him during these practices and
drills. You have helped both of us so much and I just
wanted to thank you for making baseball even more fun for us.
GO RANGERS!!!
Thanks again,
John & Hank Seabolt
Rudy & Shelley
Just wanted to
express our appreciation once again for the time and effort you
put into our trip to Dallas. Brad and I continually talk about
our experience and the knowledge we gained from our short time
we spent with Rudy and Tony. Brad told me every night before he
goes to sleep he thinks about different things Rudy taught him
not only about hitting, but about having a positive attitude.
Thanks, you truly are great people!!

Coach Rudy:
I just wanted to thank you again for taking time out for the
clinic this weekend. Your teaching technique was
outstanding and I appreciate the guidance. I was also
impressed with your desire and determination to succeed.
Tim Halloran
Rudy,
Congratulations on being named as Major League Coach of the Year
by
Baseball America!!!
The award is a tribute to your conscientiousness, passion for
the game,
general enthusiasm, and solid instructional approach.
Players whom I know that have worked with you have been very
much
appreciative of you and your way of relating to them.
Keep up the excellent work!
Sincerely,

Rudy,
I appreciate you putting this out on the market. I coach an 11 year
old travel team. Some of my players have been to one of his camps
and this helps me reinforce what they learned at that camp. I
wanted to go to the coaches clinic he held at Liberty last fall, but
had prior commitments. I would like to attend some this fall, if he
has any camps in the area.
Thank you,
Rick Kahle
I am looking
forward to incorporating the knowledge into my 10 year old's swing.
I wish you the best with your new business venture. A great idea.
Frank Lyle
…my 14 year old son
has been watching it. Thank you so much. Good luck --- I am sure
this venture will be a success.
Kevin McTavish
Dear Shelley,
Chandler received the DVD last night. Please thank Rudy for signing
his copy. While I don't know either of you I can tell by your
response that you're both our type of folk. Thanks for the
extra care!
Mike [and
especially] Chandler Allen
Rudy,
I heard you on the Randy Galloway show yesterday and you made me
very proud. You brought up the ’82 Bandits and your involvement as
our hitting coach and how this was what got you interested in
coaching. What an honor to know I was on a team that was the
beginning of your now great success. You truly are the best in the
game. I learned more from you in one year than I did my entire
life. I wish I had you around all through my time in baseball. I
remember running in to you at one of my high school games and you
gave me some quick tips that turned my slump around.
I went on to play
two years of college ball and my knees started giving out on me so I
called it a career (plus God had other plans for me). I’ve kept up
with you since you joined the Rangers and have very proudly let
everyone know that the Rangers hitting coach was my hitting coach
first. I plan to purchase your video so you can be my sons hitting
coach as well (he’s only 3).
I hope everything is
well with you and your family. I know you are busy with all your
baseball duties but I would love to hear from you (or even see you),
if you get the chance. Keep those guys hitting! I’m ready for the
Rangers to be World Series Champs (like the ’82 Bandits).

I am a 56 year old
baseball fanatic and this DVD is fantastic! I will probably not
make the majors now but I will enjoy the artistry of Rudy even more
when I watch his players hit! Tell Rudy I am working on that swing
and will be available for the next strike (had my opening day
tickets for the last one with my daughter....was it 1995???) so they
better not do that again.

Coach Rudy,
After attending your Hitting Clinic in January my son, Garrett
Greene (Age 8), has been hitting the baseball better than ever this
season. In 9 games he has hit 8 homeruns. He is hitting the ball
solid in every at bat. Your 5 steps to hitting are just great for
young players. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
A proud Mom, Joan
Greene
Dear Coach Rudy,
You have my permission to post my comments on your website. Thank
you for your reply. Garrett hopes to have another opportunity to
attend another batting clinic. But in the meantime we will
definitely work with the video. Thank you for sharing your gift of
baseball with others.
Sincerely,
Joan Greene
Coach Rudy,
As you can tell, I'm excited and the reason I'm excited is Rudy
taught me how to hit after spending 5 years of toiling around the
minor leagues. My offensive numbers improved after working with
Rudy, and the teams and players I've coached have gone on to
college, minor, and major league careers. But most of all Rudy is
great person and great for baseball in general. The Lord blessed
Rudy with the gift/ability to teach/coach. I recognize that gift,
benefited from it, and want others to learn from him. You don't get
to where Rudy is by faking it, you get there through hard work,
honesty, and integrity.
Sincerely,
Tom Duggan
